The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) is the public affairs arm of the United Jewish Federation. Its mission is to represent the interests of the Stamford, New Canaan and Darien Jewish communities to public officials and agencies, the media and the larger community. We convene and mobilize the Jewish community, build relationships with and beyond the Jewish community, and engage in non-partisan work focusing on education, advocacy, social justice, communal security, support for Israel and combating antisemitism.

For more information or to be involved, contact Sharon Lewis at Slewis@ujf.org

or Diane Sloyer at DianeSloyer@ujf.org

OUR WORK:

Communal Security and Combating Antisemitism
The JCRC  supports local Jewish institutions in enhancing security. We offer workshops, trainings and guidance and work to ensure positive relationships and communication with local law enforcement. We also speak out against instances of antisemitism and hate of all forms.

Israel Advocacy and Education
The JCRC works to ensure that our community is educated on the latest events in Israel and can successfully advocate on behalf of the Jewish State. Israel is a priority in our conversations with elected officials and the greater Stamford community.  We work closely with the Israel Action Network to counter delegitimization in the context of two states for two peoples.

Government Affairs and Advocacy
The JCRC advocates on behalf of the Jewish community to our elected officials, and provides opportunities for the community to engage with our representatives.

Intergroup and Interfaith Affairs
The JCRC is committed to building strong relationships with all of our neighbors in Stamford, New Canaan and Darien. We do so by reaching out to community leadership and members and organizing educational events and programs around shared values and ideals.

Responding to Current Affairs

The JCRC sends regular statements and press releases on behalf of United Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford, New Canaan and Darien regarding issues of importance and relevance to the Jewish community.
