Give a Mitzvah, Do A Mitzvah is an initiative that was created to offer young adults a resource for mitzvah projects and tzedakah opportunities.  You and your child may choose to develop a hands-on social action project, and/or help raise needed funds to a cause of their choice.

Many area synagogues require bar/bat mitzvah student to do social action projects, often known as "mitzvah projects, as part of their bar/bat mitzvah preparations.

A Mitzvah Project is a meaningful way to engage your child, and potentially, your whole family in some of the most important values of Judaism – repairing the world (tikkun olam) and compassion for others (v’ahavta l’rayecha kamocha).

We will start with your hobbies, interests and what you are most passionate about and go from there.

Ask yourself:

1.      What am I good at?

2.      What do I like to do?

3.      What bothers me so much about what is wrong in the world and what
do I want to do to change it?

4.      Whom do I know?

Give a Mitzvah, Do a Mitzvah program enables bar and bat mitzvah students to create their own unique mitzvah project that connects their interests and hobbies to United Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford, New Canaan and Darien's work around the world.
